Hairloss wise? Probably not at all. But if you're dealing with oily hair it might be worth a shot. I switched over from conventional shampoo to olive oil based soap bars a couple of years ago and stopped washing it every single day (it was more than once some days) and it's incredible how much better my hair is now that it's allowed to relax and doesn't get the natural oils stripped out by harsh shampoos every single day. I wash it every other day if I'm going outside and just let it be on weekends or any other time where I'm not going outside or I haven't gotten it sweaty or oily.

It used to be that after I washed it would be all flat, thin and lifeless and fly all over the place in the smallest of wind and then by the end of the day or the next morning it would feel and look okay, but then it would quickly get oily as fuck so I couldn't just wash it every other day. AND I'd get dandruff. Now it doesn't get that oily unless I don't wash it for a whole week or something and it's never got that lifeless feel or dandruff.

But that month or so where the scalp adjusted to how much oil it had to produce was fucking hell. SO OILY. I did it during a month where I wasn't doing anything social anyways, but if you're working an office job or something you might get some funny looks from having to wear hats or something. Unless you shave it all off in preparation? That might work.

Topical fin/min is an okay preventative/stabilizer, but if you've already got some shiny spots it *probably* won't grow anything back. I got quite excited at first because after about 6 months I could see my baldy bits had new growth, but it was just transparent miniaturized hairs and even after another 8 months(which should be more than enough time for those folicles to have gone through a shed/growth cycle) it hasn't improved beyond that.
