Napoleon 2024
Was Napoleon unironically a genius?
>a low level officer at age 18, low level Corsican aristocrat, little wealth. (Italy was a backwater shithole kingdom similar to Louisiana)
>Went to French Military academy after being granted a scholarship.
>became the most promising Politician just 10 years later with nothing but his charisma
>created the most perfect democratic legal system in human history from scratch. (Napoleon Code)
>created an entire democratic ideology from scratch. (Bonapartism)
>got rid of hunger and unemployment
>gave a defeated and demoralised people their faith and confidence back
>told the French they're the best people in the world in a time when they were considered a joke
>literally risked his own life in French Revolutionary Wars for his nation
>whenever he spoke the crowd became fucking ecstatic, almost like under a spell
>conquered all of Europe and almost Russia
>conquered more territory than Caesar or Alexander in a ridiculously short time
>withstood the entire planet for 12 years
>still lost due to betrayal by Marmount and Talleyrand
>went down fighting till the last second, didn't even consider surrendering until the last second.
>Was charismatic enough to avoid execution unlike Mussolini.

Seriously, was he even a human? There must have been demonic possession involved or aliens or some shit because there is no way that 1 person can achieve so fucking much in a single lifetime and have such a titanic willpower

Why wasn't the entire movie as colourful as this pic? I might have liked it more.

He was a genius. There's no way you could do what he did without being a genius.
He didn't lose because of betrayal, though. He lost because his enemies got better over time, and he did not. He started being lazy and just trying to win battles with frontal assaults. He didn't cut his losses in Spain even though it was going nowhere. He invaded Russia without a plan B for what to do if he didn't manage to crush the Russian armies close to the pre-war border. He agreed to a cease-fire in 1813 that ended up giving his enemies more improvement in strength than it gave to him. In 1815 he failed to keep his lieutenants properly informed and in line, so d'Erlon wasted time marching between Quatre Bras and Ligny without affecting either, and then Grouchy followed Blucher instead of marching to Waterloo.
