My theory is the writers ran out of ideas halfway through season 2

He should have just been a normal kid like 11 who fell into the upside down like Will and got mindfucked by long term exposure from the mindflayer rather than an evil psychopath from the start.
I also hate how he was responsible for everything, making the unknown completely human is super boring

I had really hoped that they would continue the show after S1 with entirely new supernatural shit. Like, S2 is about aliens, S3 is vampires or werewolves or something, etc.
The otherside just isn't interesting enough to justify spending several seasons on it.
