Films that deserve a reappraisal?
Picrel got good enough reviews but going back to it now I think it holds up even better especially on gorgeous 4K.
The score and soundtrack in particular are genuinely great.

Anons can't watch an entire film without posting about it
Grim
I'd like a plain /film/ thread, no film discussion, waifutrannies instead, a bit of genre slop and a single effortpost.
>>213586026it's dingo. he never actually watches films, just plays them in the background as he shitposts here. this is why his opinion on a film is never to be trusted
>>213586100Your pattern reading is faulty. Dingo doesn't watch "black and white slop" whereas this well-spoken gentleman seems more worldly and open to different varieties of cinematic works.
https://letterboxd.com/dingoatemybabi/films/year/1977/
Dingo already saw The Duellists and rated it 1 star kek
The only duelists I care about
The only dualist I care about
The only duelle I care about
Dingo doesn't rate too many 5 stars. He reserves that for real works of art like The Phantom Menace and Avatar 2.

>BonusTwinky aka Lola (1970) starring Susan George and Charles Bronson.
I'm not sure if he's just really good at coming off annoyed, or he genuinely did his best to tolerate the situation he found himself in because he got paid for it. He acted like an exhausted cashier who has given up on life the whole time. I felt the same way from the way his co-lead Susan acted. Such an annoying picture.
Hey, Kinskifag, if you're the one who posted the Tous les garรงons... mega you're a real one.

The girl I hooked up with back in Christmas of 2023 uploaded a sexy new profile gif of herself and now Iโm a raging hard on. I donโt think I can focus on any films today. Films for this feel?

>>213585812 (OP)>QOTDI have cleverness fatigue, I have topicality fatigue. Too many films these days would rather be thought of as clever than actually deliver on anything. And theyโre hardly even clever. The new movie in theatres, WEAPONS, is a prime example. Anytime something remotely scary happens, it cuts away to another character and gives you a half hour of nothing horror-related, just dry reddit humour, until something scary happens, and then it cuts away againโฆ The director wants normalfags to praise him as a genius, you see, and the average movie fanโs self esteem is so low that if they see a film that is tonal and structural gobbledygook and donโt understand it, they immediately think the movie is too smart for them. Actually, they sell themselves short, and are not too stupid, but are understanding with perfect clarity that the film is an incomprehensible mess.
>Mephistopheles is black
What the fuck did Schnabel mean by this?
Also the film is an absolute bore, and it's almost 3 fucking hours. Schnabel's camerawork since The Diving Bell and the Butterfly has been extremely annoying and borderline comical (the Dafoe looking at the sky meme from At Eternity's Gate) and it isn't even especially stylish. Nadav Lapid does "hectic camera with it's own mind" thing ten times better. Schnabel is just dull at best, annoying at worst.
And yeah, the cast is fucking ridiculous, Gal Gadot is as terrible as ever, she cannot act. Momoa is way out of fucking place although he at least tries.
Expecting the film to get torn apart at Venice. Rightfully so, it is really bad.
>>213585149That was you, Kinskibro? No fuckin' way! We both wear many hats unknown to most posters and it appears our harems are bigger than /film/ could ever imagine.

>>213591659>>>/mu/127336906
>>213591006the next couple of posts are my review
it's awful, meandering nonsense, only bearable parts are the ones in the past, the cinemtography is annoying if not dull and even amaeturish at points, the attempt at some crime plot in the modern-time section of the film (which is the majority of the movie) is utterly comical and the finale is staged like the guy directing is Ralphthemoviemaker, it's amaeturish and comical

i saw this movie a year or two ago, it was almost perfect but the scenes with a couple of psychiatric patients were grating and out of place because the whole film is about the physical but then it randomly switched to following (in an annoyingly repetitive fashion) some elderly mentally ill people
i feel like if they wanted to explore that topic too they should've made a separate documentary

I googled it and it came up with eng subs, what's the issue?
the issue is that you use google as a verb instead of correctly stating that you used a search engine. google, as you may be aware of, is a subsidiary of one of the largest multinationals in the world, alphabet.

>>213585812 (OP)>What makes you hate a film the most?Firstly pretentiousness, meaning it draws attention to the form so as to seem more artistic instead of subordinating the form to the intention.
Examples:
>Persona>Satantango>Tokyo StorySecondly political ideology, ie it's ok to have a point of view since films are meant to be subjective, but nowadays more than ever films just shamelessly try to shoehorn ideological themes.

very Kubrickian movie about zoologist twin brothers who lose both their wives in a car crash, and cope by making gross time-lapse films of dead animals rotting, and by fucking the lady who was also in the car crash and lost her leg.

I found a vinyl copy of the soundtrack at a record store so for a while I owned The Draughtsman's Contract's soundtrack but not the movie until a bluray was released not too long ago
I'm still waiting for a bluray of The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, And Her Lover because it looked too good not to watch it at the highest quality I can, and I didn't love it quite as much as the other two so I don't mind waiting.
I really, really fucking hate niggers.
