What Size TV do I need to enjoy movies at home?
I use an old 27" monitor and I don't like it.

It is going to go in a bedroom.

For bedroom no more than 40". For living room at least 55" or bigger. Make sure TV is eye level with where you are sitting. Women will place the tv closer to the ceiling than at eye level and its absolutely retarded.

It depends on your room and viewing distance you fucking retard

I never noticed this before, but you're completely right. Why do they do this?

Usually it's because of a fireplace or young children children. There's no other excuse for it.

I think it has to do with keeping the tv away from kids breaking it so they place it higher. They also love to place knickknacks and picture frames in front of the tv and block portions of the screen. Its really unacceptable.

I've had 55 for a while and wouldn't get anything less than 65 if I got a new one. The price jump between those brackets is absurd though.

It depends on how far you are from the tv and your own personal preference. I like to be right on the tv just a few feet away because it feels more immersive to me that way.

Honestly, just buy a Sony 4K and hope for the best. All the other tv manufacturers have quality control problems including Sony but you get what you pay for. If you cant afford Sony get LG and hope for the best.

Samsung OLEDs look great but have an AWFUL UI. It's worth it, but expect to wrestle with your TV a lot.

LG makes all the OLED panels for all tvs. But you are correct the UI fucking sucks on Samsungs.

I have an S90C and this is true. The UI is laggy and the menus are counter-intuitive as fuck. And you can't set image settings on a per app/input basis it sort of does it "automagically" which means sometimes I lose the fucking calibration.

I got a 65" TV on Black Friday for $200. It's a piece of shit though. No I don't want to navigate past Roku ads to put it in HDMI mode. My old "dumb" TV just stays in HDMI mode proving it's the actual smart TV.

Its because they view the people they see on TV as divine authorities, so they think its appropriate to be looking up when receiving transmissions from them

Measure your distance to where the TV will be and use this. https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-relationship

>bigger = better
Simple rule for choosing a TV. Don't trust no nigger who talks about "viewing distance" and shit it's all a ruse to sell more TVs.
>"But isn't a bigger TV more expensive and will therefore give them more money?"
Yes, initially. But the only reason people upgrade their TVs are because it's too small (see e.g. your post). So it's better for them you buy a smaller one, and after a few years by a new one. Instead of keeping the old one for a decade.

I bet if you viewed those charts with viewing distance to TV size from ten years ago they would seem like a joke compared to now.
15 years ago they recommended a 42" (said 50" would be too big even), for the same distance we now have a 65".

>he connected his TV to the internet.
Rookie mistake. My "shirbox" TV works good. Just have my HDMI connected to it, when I press the power button it goes to it.
