In the days of the youtube athiests, he was pretty much my favourite. Youtube worked different in those days. There would be a youtube video, and in the sidebar, there'd be someone else's video response to this video. Youtube athiests would debate youtube christians, and it was video back and forth. The youtube athiests would really eat each other alive. Entertaining, but brutal. Every channel he started got deleted. He came back under a variety of names. So many of his old videos have been lost into the ether. From the most recent videos I've seen, his politics have shifted so much that I'm no longer even remotely aligned with his worldview. I still would enjoy his bizarro take on things and his rambling monologues. I somewhat doubt whether he even believes the words coming out of his own mouth anymore.

It isn't really early YouTube, but I think Austin Mcconnell had some of the best content on the site in the mid-2010s. He fell off hardcore in recent years and had a fucking heart attack/stroke combo, but the video about making his movie and the one about his time on lonelygirl15 are kino beyond belief.

I loved TolstoyKafkaEvsky's work when I was a kid, but looking back he very clearly suffered from legitimate schizophrenia and seemed like a danger to himself. I imagine he's currently babbling away to himself in an asylum somewhere.

Digibro is such a crazy fall from grace. Old YT was pretty insular. The algorithm was pretty straightforward and would push the most popular stuff view wise to homepage. The whole idea was people had dedicated websites like TGWTG and Roosterteeth and YT was just a way to direct people to their websites so they could make more ad revenue from their own sites. Back then it wasn't as common to rely solely on YT to build a community since there was also BlogTV, Vidme and other video hosting websites all still competing with each other on top of the self hosted content websites I mentioned previously.
