Voldemort cloned himself inside a magic diary that became self aware and jinxed Ginny into doing the dirty work until he's been draining her life force and if he would've been succesful he would've become physical. You can clearly tell the concept of Horcruxes wasn't developed and the whole point of Voldemort getting resurrected into his former teenage self was something entirely else. Imagine a youn Voldemort again at his very peak, he would've reigned supreme. Thinking that voldemort cloned himself inside an object that could just become a human again shows of what kind of magic he is capable of and this is way more interesting than fucking horcruxes

Fuck you, rowling. You just ruined it

It wasnt actually voldemort tho, it was a clone, voldemort was still alive. They probably would have fought down the line if it had survived

Tbf, we don't know what would have happened if the diary Riddle was successful. Would we have two Voldemorts on earth? Would they instantly merge once Riddle was fully out of the diary? Or would Riddle need to occupy a host body even after that? We don't know, and considering JKR's world building skill (wizards used to shit on the spot and evaporate it before plumbing was a thing in Hogwarts btw), it's a good thing she didn't answer this one.

Voldemort's feat of splicing his soul into 7 pieces was unseen before, we infer that people who have done horcruxes tend to make one at most, batshit crazies go for two. Voldemort was a unique case so because of that believe what you would have liked to believe

It was half of Voldemort’s soul. That’s why it was so powerful compared to the other horcruxes

That wasn't Voldemort at his peak, the freak that doesn't look human anymore is his peak.

This is peak performance right here. If I were there I'd pull down my skirt and let her and her rich friends throw darts at my mutilated dick and fill my asshole with industrial grade Bleach while shouting "Exspermianus!" and serve them all a fourteen course tasting menu where every dish was garnished with my leached gender fluids.

Because the book has a way to communicate with someone, remember when they wore the locket it drove them all nuts slightly.
Also this was his forst horcrux, so his soul wasn't as fragmented as it would become with the last couple.
