I do this too but it's misguided. Are you ever actually going to pull out your hard drive to watch shit? You can easily just stream it from sites that pop up every week. I have a backup in case there's some weird scenario where I'm cut off from internet which has only happened to me twice in my life and not for very long. And when you die they'll toss all your shit out. It's not like they are going to see your hard drive and be happy that they found some gold mine. They're just gonna throw it.

Not a second screen, there are apps you can download that will set up your files as tv stations, I prefer the experience of having it randomly select a movie for me to watch rather than me having to select it myself. The problem is if I have a choice I usually pick a film I know I'm likely to like, which is something I've already watched. I've discovered a LOT of new movies by doing it this way. And i can switch back and forth between different programs if I want that old channel flipping experience.

I have about a thousand films from 1920s-Now that I either love or are supposed to be good. Mostly critically acclaimed stuff or recommendations from here and other places. I have a bunch of PRIDE and old wrestling from 80s-2005. All the good comedies, some of my favourite shows and lots of recommended stuff, pretty much any cartoon you can imagine from the 90s until like 2010 and then a bunch of reality/MTV and stuff girls would like

I think I've put together the perfect HD for a film lover/student or 80/90s kids but data hoarding is autistic and I doubt I'll get through half of this shit in my lifetime. Even now I'm thinking "I keep seeing Columbo threads I should torrent that next" It never ends.
