2. Not even the blackface. The entire Jane subplot is about Roger constantly embarrassing himself with his midlife crisis second wife, but I singled out this episode in particular because it literally ends with Don telling Roger everyone thinks he's foolish.
3. Roger drunkenly invites Lee Garner Jr to the Christmas party, so they suddenly have to spare no expense on it and then Jr spends the entire night humiliating Roger while cosying up to Joan and Jane. Agreed it's definitely hilarious for the viewer, at any rate.
4. You said to "name 1", the inference being "name 1 [episode]", so I gave the names.
5. I'm sure there's more examples throughout the rest of the show (including his brief hippie phase after his LSD trip) but I'm only halfway through on my rewatch and can't recall too much else off the top of my head.
6. Roger's still one of the best characters in the show.

You're misremembering the chain of events slightly. Garner gets handsy with Sal in the art room, then after he gets rejected tells Harry to remove Sal from the project. When that doesn't happen Garner gets pissed, the partners have to play damage control, and so Don fires Sal for not keeping their main client happy.
It's a different scenario from the Jaguar deal, where they all knew up front that the price for the client was prostituting Joan.
Plus there's also the old rumour that Sal's actor was booted off the show because he insulted the creator's son (Glen), or else somehow pissed off the producers, which is why he leaves partway through S3 and unceremoniously runs off with the Village People.
