Val Kilmer was the best live action Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Batman Forever is literally the best Batman flick. A perfect balance between the dumb slop that are comicbooks and trying to interpret it into reality.

I watched Tombstone for the first time recently and holy fuck Val carried hard. Not that he needed to with that cast but goddamn.

It's a terrible film that has little appeal outside childhood nostalgia and gay bathhouses.

It's a great film. Much better than the embarrassing "pls take Batman seriously" Nolanslop and everything that followed.

Jim Carrey was the biggest star in Hollywood and did a good Frank Gorshin style Riddler.

Tom Lee Jones said that he read the comics when he was kid and wanted Harvey Two Face to be like those comics. He could have had more screen time to give his character some sort of arc. But I think the reason was to just have him kill Robin's parents.

This scene was so good. Especially with Bruce trying to yell that he's Batman.

Seriously. That cast is fucking stacked, you could have anyone else play Doc Holiday and it would still be a 10/10 movie, but with him in it, it feels like you're just waiting until he is on screen again. I need to watch Tombstone again.

I watched that film like a month ago with my wife's son and he has now rewatched it like 3-4 times just because of Val.

I love that the film isn't afraid to be both ridiculous and serious, often at the same time.
Also Elliot Goldenthal's music is so fucking good. I know everyone loves the Elfman theme (and it is good), but Goldenthal's theme just seems so much more triumphant. I hear Elfman's theme and I picture Batman fighting, I hear Goldenthal's and I picture Batman standing heroically on a pile of defeated villains or on the edge of a building with a crowd staring up at him.

It's amazing how much better Batman movies look on practical miniatures or sets that aren't just fucking Chicago.

Realism killed Batman.
