That’s the whole arc of the movie. Everyone is bitching at Superman for doing too much (Lois) or not doing enough (Justice Gang). His whole arc is learning how he shouldn’t let people’s expectations cloud his judgement in trying to do what’s right. The lowest point of the movie is him literally learning the expectations he had believed grounded him were turned inside out.
Not a single character who grief’s Superman over his restraint is portrayed as more noble than Superman. The Justice Gang consists of an asshole, an autist, and an apathetic woman. And the Kaiju’s death is portrayed by Superman as an overreaction by these corporate heroes who initially seem more concerned with fame than preserving life. The presidential death was not portrayed as necessary, the JG already had the sortition handled. I expect we’ll get the fallout in a later project.
