Just watched The Wailing and it's one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. Legitimately made me slack jawed multiple times throughout the movie. Only an hour and 10 minutes in but Scream 2 is a pretty fun sequel so far. There's plenty of good scenes like at the cafeteria, during the Sydney's rehearsal when she has a mental break andRandy fucking dying, and when they recreate scenes from the original with the in-universe film STAB. Also liked how they carried on the Cotton Weary storyline, even though he was innocent he's clearly lost his mind after being in jail for years. Could fall apart at the end though.

I didn't hate 28 Years Later, but the ending being a sequel hook leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Especially since DaCosta reportedly wasn't interested in shooting Bone Temple the same way that Boyle did, and apparently Cillian Murphy says that the third film even happening depends all on the success of Bone Temple. Not sure if /tv/ or /hor/ fucks with American Horror Story because I just watched the first season on a whim and it was very normie, gay, and not scary, but if anyone did watch it as it aired I have a question. After finishing the season I searched for some threads from 13 years ago to see how people reacted to it, and everyone was speculating where the story could go in season 2 and stuff.

There’s absolutely no sense of timing. The pacing is all over the place, and it has three damn endings, one of them right in the middle of the credits.

Also, one of the main characters in the movie is supposedly a bluesman so virtuoso he can summon spirits from the afterlife. And yet, there’s not a single damn blues song in this whole thing! The only moment when a blues tune actually starts playing, the director can’t help himself and turns it into a sloppy mix of rap, twerk dancing, and DJ scratching. What about the blues?

They have mandatory union people standing around sets just standing there and earning money, and they have "writers' rooms" with the same shit. I read they did a one hour interview in Los Angeles, just filmed two people sitting in chairs and talking to eachother, and Los Angeles charges around 2000 dollars in fees for that, plus a fee for a "representative of the natives" on which land they shoot who does nothing and just earns cash, plus 900 dollars for a union representative who just "is" there, plus 100 dollars for a fire marshal who never showed up.

If that's the costs California adds to a one hour shoot, go figure what they charge for a full movie production. I think even mobsters wouldn't shake down movie people for as much.
