People in my theater kept fucking laughing the entire time. Whenever the kids were running with their arms stretched out, for instance. Even when the teacher and Michaelโ€™s dad went into the house they were fucking dying laughing. Was this movie meant to be a comedy?

The Epstein ordeal completely desensitized people to child abuse. NPCs would rather pretend hurting kids is fine instead of facing the ugly truth.

What puzzles me is why people think it's a horror. It's got drama, thriller and supernatural elements but all in all it felt more like an X Files episode circa season 4-6 when they started putting more jokes in. I wouldn't describe that as horror.

I'm guessing you just don't respect horror movies, which can be very well written.
As a horror movie, this movie falls very flat because of the comedy.
But as a light thriller, it's much better.

That goes to show how good the horror mood still was going before the comedy in the movie kicked into full gear and killed the dread.

There's tons of good jokes in the movie. But if you're laughing at things that are clearly just uncanny or unusual then you come off like a normie loser who laughs when he can't cope with weirdness.

But verse 17 clearly is not really saying anything though. It's verse 18 that has anything remotely relevant to the movie, so idk if that theory holds.
