also these types of training/designing exercises were not solely focused on maximizing profit, but also ensuring worker safety. speed was important in fast food, and that meant accidents were too. so a large amount of this systems training they show in the movie is an attempt to prevent workers handling dangerous materials to ever have a movement where that could hot ingredient to shift, large box to move, etc, could potentially hurt someone.

I've been foundermaxxing irl for the last couple weeks. I've visited most of the McD's in my area, always ordering "a uh... hmburer, fries, and a Coca-Cola," then acting confused when they ask what size fries and cup I want, asking where I can eat my food, where the plates and utensils are, staring at other customers eating their food, etc. This one semi-attractive white lady I was watching, she didn't say anything to me but was definitely giving me dirty looks, I think she thought I was looking at her daughter who was probably 5 or 6, but I really wasn't because she was busy watching her ipad and wasn't even eating. Definitely a bit corny at the start when they paint the Speedee system as some kind of mythical 60s utopia with perfect food and drinks. If you read reviews of McDonalds in its early days, you will notice they're similar to today's in criticising high sugar, fat, not being filling, being too expensive etc

OK. What Kroc did (creating a brand which would last generations) was far more impactful and important than the two McDonald brothers running their successful restaurant.

McDonald's, the brand, is the gold standard in the industry; the brand that every other fast food company in the world attempts to mimic (for certain things).

The film was OK. Better than nothing, but it's hard to make a decent film when there aren't enough real facts to keep people's attention.
