They put some kind of rotating rig in it that could hold the kids while she spun around. They didn't even bother to cover it up in post. Also in one of the scenes with all the sparks, theres a mirror with the top part of the cgi spark effect missing. It's so fucking cheap.

I find it interesting that they managed to add "fun" to Alien and it works. It's a perfect clash with the child minds of the characters. I just worry what longer term viability the child minds have for the show. Like they will have to do some minor time skip with the excuse that the super computer brain accelerates their learning by a decade in just a few days.
I love the characters. The final scene of the second episode when they fall out the side is cheesy but that's alright. I really enjoyed it I had a great time with both episodes. It captures the 79 aesthetics and mixes it with modern takes on the future well.
Overall I am extremely excited for the next episodes. I like Hermit, I love Wendy and Curly. Smee is fine, Nib looks like Ron Weasley but shes good. Slightly is good too. I think anyone shitting on the cast is just throwing this way out of proportion. The plot of course is "silly" but the plot is fun and if the show tried to do some super dark scary edgy plot I don't think it would have worked.

The opening with all the people in the space ship, just like Alien, was the best part. The characters were interesting and well acted. I thought the show would be about them. Turns out they're completely wasted and the show is about joke characters and autistic robot children and guys in shitty alien costumes. For fuck's sake.

The more I have seen of this show, the more disappointed I am.
I wanted a disaster movie with aliens turning a major earth city into a colony and colonial marines desperately attempting to contain them. Sending a group that are still mentally regular children, regardless of their new bodies, into a situation they are not trained for is just dumb. In a regular situation where it was just some ship that dropped out of the sky onto a civilian area (instead of this worst-case scenario of it carrying xenomorphs) still requires knowledge of how to respond to it.
We should have had them studying things already, including tests on how their bodies are functioning. This could have been them insisting on going to prove they've studied enough, with BK thinking he sees in them the same things that made him successful. The scene with them trying to show Kirsh the eyeball should have had one of the Hybrids having checked the database and narrating what it was to him (and us) as a taste of what all was being studied on the ship.
But it wasn't, because the writers are not actually thinking things through.

It is a very poorly done allegory that blends with an attempt to touch on transhumanism and problems of mind/body/soul. But the transness is very obvious.

This is quite a funny post to me because I made a half bait half serious thread before asserting the same thing, that it was proto TLJ.
