It was a cool movie, never crossed my mind that it was perfect though

Yea and a lingering feel that you want to fuck the main character.

half the dialogue is some technological mumbo jumbo

hardly, most of its dialogue is dense and layered.

Can't beat watching anime in the 90's when it was new and unheard of and cool as a format and also seeing it dealing with all the future cyberpunk ideas and where we thought things might be going.

That's exactly when i saw it, but i was too young, found it confusing, hard to get into

It's absolute nonsense, just pure convoluted anime brain rot masquerading as mature philosophy. Exactly like the directors patlabor movies.
Theyre popular though because they look and sound so fucking good.

I can easily rewatch all these movies any time and just enjoy them visually with the volume cranked up. But my eyes just glaze over every time some one starts talking.

Why was the animes so much shittier by comparison? A few okay episodes but they were mostly retarded, only the intros were kino.

You need to rewatch it, there's nothing convoluted, it's a pretty simple story, you just need to pick the context

Because this movie is mostly an adaptation of a manga, while the show is all original content. And it's pretty decent to be fair but i think sac is actually much more guilty of shit that gits 95 is criticized for, namely being convoluted for no reason.

Origa was such a good singer. Sad she died so soon. Even her performance on Final Fantasy XIII-2's soundtrack was amazing.

To this day the only fond memory of Gits that I have was when it aired during april fools and they added the fart sounds.

Season 1 includes a lot of the stand alone (heh) story arcs from the manga, plus the OC laughing man story. Episode 1 with the robot geishas is essentially a 1:1 retelling of one of the first manga arcs but I think they swapped mossad for the CIA or something. Plus limited to a TV budget.

The 95 movie just covered the AI story so it's a lot more focused.

I didn't like it as much. I don't like the animation style. And I stopped caring about their philosophy and the major after she merged with the puppetmaster

'team oshii' was really skilled and experienced by that point, in general but also from patlabor 2 specifically. obv a weekly show on a much smaller budget isn't gonna look as lavish, but things like composition and color palettes are where you can really see the difference that they were able to make

ended up liking it a lot more after seeing it in a theater, the soundtrack and sfx were great. the cg backgrounds sometimes work but sometimes not.

I have seen this film over 9000 times and I still don't get the voice on the boat thing.... Is that supposed to be the ghost? This film is pretty but makes zero sense.

I personally feel like this movie has a weird structure, like it doesn't have a second act, it has an opening act and then it kinda jumps to the climax, still kino though.
