No, you fucking retard. Let's go with the kid since asking me to argue my own subjective view on whether I'm being killed would be even more pointless:
1. My child is dead in this scenario if I agree. Its memories are being overwritten into a blank synthetic body. It's ChatGPT trained on a decade of experiences, not my actual child. You can argue it acts in the exact same way so as to be indistinguishable, but they are not the same person, mentally or physically.
2. In the show, afterwards they get to serve as slaves for a corporation in exchange for their uplifting. Boy Genius doesn't seem to have much interest in returning them to their families when his fun experiment is over, and no other corporation in the setting would either (unless logical extrapolation is again, off limits). I would not be getting my child back, they would go be Zoomer Musk's latest concubine or serve in a death squad.
Best case scenario, you are not getting your kid, you're getting a robot cosplaying as your kid that could massacre a dozen men in seconds and you can also no longer trust it. What else are they uploading in there? What happens when/if you or someone else needs to tell your kid "no" and they can shear your skull apart with their fingers, even if they don't mean to? I would take the chances on whatever treatment was available or bury my child knowing they died human and they GOT to die instead of their copy sitting in some faggot's personal archive forever, edited and uploaded into soulless golems as convenient.
