Anon, that hag bitch brings the fucking movie down, I don't even care she wore a see through top and flashed a little titty. She was awful and they should have just stuck to the original idea of having her just sing the music numbers instead of thinking she can fucking act. I mean, that was all up to Warren, isn't it? It seems he wants to sit on the IP and only tosses on the ol' hat and trenchcoat when he wants it to be renewed, otherwise it goes into the public domain. He even bothered Leonard Maltin over it.

Sean sounded like she's a special slice of batshit. She was the one who showed up to Warner Bros. studio in her own homemade Catwoman costume and freaked out Tim Burton in it all because she missed out on the role of Vicki Vale in the previous film because she fucked her ankle up horseback riding.
All Madonna did was what Sean wouldn't: suck Warren off, which was easy because they were an item at the time.

The film emerged in the post-Batman world where a vigilante took the law into his own hands and went around beating up criminals, while Beatty's take on a comic book hero was a guy who was of the law and did everything by the book. Since Batman '89, there have been what, five men who have played Batman? There have been only about three men to have played Jamed Bond in that time too. Its the Wesley Snipes route; you did something so right the first time you did it and it was so right in all the ways it could be right, that it isn't going to be topped no matter who wears the yellow fedora and trenchcoat. In the publics mind, there is and has only been one Dick Tracy and that's Warren and he probably wants to keep that as long as he can. I wouldn't want to let that go and give it up easily either.

Each to their own but Beatty himself as Tracy is probably the most easily replaceable component imo. I think Christopher Reeve would've been a better Tracy personally. The film succeeds through its top notch art direction and the exceptional cast playing the classic villains. Maybe 10 or more years ago anyway. There's a massive dearth of masculine actors in Hollywood now. Not that you couldn't find a good Tracy with an open casting call.

Cool, a Dick Tracy-thread. Was it just mer or was the setup by X eerily similar to the "12 Angry Men"-murder?

similarities
>no alibi
>two old men downstairs seeing the dude running up the stairs
>people are heard yelling/screaming to eachother
>younger man stabs older man with a weapon
>Dick Tracy have no recollection of what happened
>the victim and the defendant had a previous dispute
>the defendant had a previous record of violent behaviour

it turns out Dick Tracy wasn't gulity.. do you think the 12 angry men would've have aquitted Tracy?

did they get treated differentely just because one guy was white and the other was a hispanic latino?

D.A. Fletcher's dispute with Tracy was intentionally done to thwart Tracy's investigation in to Big Boy because he took bribes from him. Tracy respected his position and authority but didn't piece together him being compromised until it was too late.

The story on this is so insane
>In the Mid-60s WB has no faith in the Bonnie and Clyde movie so they offer Warren Beatty 40% of the profits to produce it, he then writes and stars in it and the movie makes $70M in the box office, Warren begins to quietly sharpen his toolset for operating in Hollywood.

>Warren pitches idea for Dick Tracy in 1975, no one wants to make it
>Superman comes out, everyone's ears perk up
>Movie keeps getting shopped around
>Warren Beatty licks his lips while the gears are in motion
>Original comic writer decides the scripts are all terrible, chimps out since he can't maintain complete creative control
>Director on board demands too much money (oy vey, 5 million + backend points on this movie none of us wanted any part of initially?!?)
>Movie returns to production limbo
>Warren realizes everyone's vision for the movie is wrong and he's the only one who can make a faithful adaptation so he options it for 3 million
>Beatty and Goldman re-write the entire movie
>Disney reluctantly agrees to make it so long as the budget is under $25 million, anything that goes over comes out of Beatty's pay
>Beatty sells 1.5 million t-shirts that serve as movie tickets for opening night
>Beatty holds on to the rights like it pumps his blood
