This...was interesting, to say the least. When I was younger, I didn't react much because I didn't fully understand it, even though I knew the movie was something different, and knew the tragedies of that time. I finally rewatched it, and still wasn't reacting much...BECAUSE I understood it. I have a feeling this thread's gonna derail, as many biopic threads do, but this really is a heartbreaking, but powerful and necessary work of art, especially knowing everything did indeed happen. This is nowhere near my favorites, but I appreciate it far more than most of them.
...Also Neeson and Fiennes were STELLAR as Schindler and Goeth.
More like Schindler's piss hehe
>>213661726 (OP)I'm required by law to agree with this movie in my country. Therefore I give it ten stars. Excellent.
Never heard of this movie, what's it about?
>>213661726 (OP)A bit one-sided in my opinion
>>213661726 (OP)I'm not even going to engage with someone who thinks this propaganda movie has any basis in reality.
>>213661726 (OP)Pretty crazy both Jurassic Park AND Schindler's List both released the same year. Speilberg was on another level back then.
>>213661726 (OP)I have a hot take, but a real one.
This movie didn't need to be in black and white.
>>213663710And both of them were on the same plane of "reality"
I couldn't take Fiennes seriously as Goeth simply because of his very silly caricature accent.
It's like making a film about Mussolini and having him talk like Mario.
Or a film about Mao and having him talk in the most over-the-top engrish I AM VELLY SOLLY way possible.
>>213663744It helped defuse the absurd comedic undertones
It's kino but /pol/ will never admit it.
