It's good, basically pushed Flanagan's career into mainstream
>inb4 some contrarian retard comes up
Bly Manor was worse, but still had it's moments. Less focused cause it's basically trying to take one storyline and adapt several different stories through it. It's not all written by Flanagan either, although visually still looks like his work.

I watched two or three eps of this but turned it off because it was incredibly boring, it's also very woke but that's kind of a given

I liked it but it kinda lost steam by around ep 7 or 8

I liked it a lot. His stuff finds a near perfect balance between comfy and spooky, which is where I consider the best horror media lies.
A lot of horror movies and tv shows, especially ones, completely lack this balance.

The Thing, comfy and spooky.
Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, comfy and spooky.
Trick R Treat, comfy and spooky.
Comfy and spooky makes for great Halloween

Flanagan's stuff is comfy and spooky too. I think an ensemble cast is the defining factor. Multiple characters getting spooked together like the wake episode makes it feel more fun than aggravating. Also a good location. Whodunnits are good for the same reason. Comfy and spooky.

Flanagan's second best work after Midnight Mass. Luke was the best character.

I consider Cabin in the Woods to be comfy spooky.

>also very woke
How is an all white, all hetero cast story about the strength of family "woke"? Did you confuse it with Bly Manor?

This show was great. The longtake episode was pretty incredible from a technical standpoint. Bly Manor was boring as hell in comparison, and its "clever" episode where it kept looping became frustrating and repetitive.

Gay drama masked as a horror show. Horror should not be "and everything turned out ok :)".

Boring and unimaginative. Has a nice cast, nice visuals, cinematography. But all of that is wasted on the absolutely trite writing.
It's yet another haunted house premise and they didn't even bother to come up with an interesting background for that. House is just evil for some reason.
Again, dead people are stuck in there (again just because), but aren't utilised much except for that ghost chick.
Family members are just there. I thought that each of them would have a thing, a special supernatural gift, but it's mostly the same ghost seein stuff, bar for that glove wearing girl. I can't really remember much about them – some guy was a junkie, the other sterilised himself, also there was a lesbian.
So weak of an impression.

You didn't watch the show. Why are you opining on it?

Hot ass women in that. Each one desirable. I remember watching that, all I wanted to do was to fuck.

The fuck are you talking about? Did you forget about the dyke sister? And the other sister who was married to a knee-grow?

It was good until the end.

>the haunted house where people have been going mad and killing themselves for decades is actually... LE GOOD

I really enjoy Hill House and Midnight Mass. I didn't even finish Bly Manor.

Honestly yes since the nigger dies as soon as we meet him and the sister's story is neither about romance or carpet munching.

I'm on ep 7 rewatching it. had a sleep paralysis the other night after marathoning the first 3 eps, it's just as good as I remember

I tried to watch it several times, but all the characters talk like one "person". In fact, it's not even dialogue, but a set of monologues. And the introduction seems unbearably boring to me. Midnight Mass was good by the way
