I already know the plot of the Earth infestation from the comics. The aliens take about 2 years to take over. The earth government sweeps the problem under the rug for as long as possible because they want that extrasolar tourism money. Afterwards, the planet is retaken by an army made from the colonies. There was just too much open ground for the aliens to resist. The predators watched the whole thing on predator TV, and sometimes jumped in to have fun hunting aliens and humans.

The main problem for me is the Disney look, for a lack of a better word. On a technical visual level, I can't much distinguish it from any other Disney-Marvel thing.
It looks floaty, plasticy, tacky and weird. The CGI is, at parts, absolutely atrocious.

They did some things really well - the early sets and actors are great, for example. But that's kinda it.

Also, a problem is just how quickly it moves to Alien action. The crews deaths are handled like the fucking subtle foreshadowing meme, just so we can get down to some Xenomorph action as quickly as possible. And said action is pretty weak.

The whole android synth cyborg whatever angle is getting bland. They have nothing interesting to say about it. Its literally just an excuse for superpowered retards fighting xenomorphs.

Everything nowadays is one of two extremes, either it is the best thing ever or the worst thing ever. Online, saying you like something is either:

Expectation is also the thief of joy. Notice how the word overrated is often overused online? Hype is a (you) problem. Every year I see some horror movie get hyped up into being the "best thing ever" and then people declaring it didn't live up to the hype. Last year I think it was Longlegs, this year it is Weapons. Because we aren't watching these shows in a vacuum and everything becomes a comparison between the hype bubble vs the reality which is never the same. It doesn't help that franchises push fear of missing out and other anxieties to try and galvanise consumers into fanatics.

I believe the only "true" plotholes regarding the ship crash, is one, why did the ship crash on that angle. And 2, why didn't WY have a secret crew in the city prepared to be first on the scene.
If the ship was coming in angled, any scientist in that world would be able to predict where exactly the ship would land, especially a company like WY would be able to see the trajectory, and get a secret unit near the site at the right time.
Most other things can be explained. They wouldn't want the ship shot down because of the precious cargo obviously. I doubt ships are coming daily with aliens on them. Also, Prodigy is an enemy to WY, so if the aliens on the ship did turn out to be hostile, WY would get to field test their specimens in the most "morally correct" way possible, which is a true accident, instead of them just unleashing them.

the show turned out to be the kind you can only enjoy if you turn your brain off completely. That's fine, but it's understandable that a lot of anons are disappointed it's nowhere near as good as they were hoping.
