There'a a high chance it's all a gayops to make people talking and sell them even more on the actors' chemistry. Remember that movie with Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney? There were lots of speculations and rumors that the two of them hooked up on set, even if back then she was engaged. Then after a few months they both admitted that they intentionally feed the rumors mill while interacting with each other on social media, acting extra cute together in interviews, releasing behind the scene pictures of them behing very close etc and it was all for promotion.
It's something that celebrities do all the time, they call the paparazzi and make them take pictures so they can go back in the spotlight with rumors that they're secretly dating. Women always fall for this shit.

Cut doesn't mean immediately switch everything off. A scene is being filmed, actors are in character, director decides they have enough footage but a scene can continue being played out so theres potentially more footage to work with.
