I used to love Sam Hyde, until I realized his one and only "talent" is just saying intentionally inflammatory things to make people angry. Anybody can do that. It doesn't take a genius to piss people off. Especially the way Sam does it, which is just shouting slurs in liberal/progressive spaces. That's like going to a church and yelling "HAIL SATAN!" then recording people's expectedly shocked reactions and calling that the peak of comedy. Not to mention, Sam himself doesn't even pretend to do comedy anymore. His money comes from his streams where he acts as a parasocial e-father figure to his audience of disillusioned zoomers. I still like MDE, but as many seasoned fans will tell you, Nick is the actual funny one of the group. Sam's funniest bits have pretty much been entirely the work of other people. The Ted Talk is the perfect example of this. Despite Sam being the one giving the presentation and taking all of the credit, he didn't write a single line of that script.
