Fatal Fury had a cool story that tied into Art of Fighting
Terry and Andy's stepfather Jeff (a martial artist) gets a hit put out on him by local small time crime boss Geese Howard and he gets killed and the boys are young and go off to train to get revenge then they come back in their early 20s and Geese has taken over southtown and has the whole city working for him and henchmen like Mr. Big and Billy Kane and the Bogards team up with their pal Joe Higashi the Japanese muay Thai champ and they commence on whooping niggas asses all over the city to try to get to geese and Terry eventually does after fighting through the games roster and kicks geese out the window of his hi rise office building.
Turns out the guy who killed Jeff was Mr. Karate (Takuma Sakazaki) from Art of Fighting, when he used to work for geese, who is the father of Roy and Yuri from art of fighting.
A lot of these characters share histories and it's really a n interesting universe, like Wolfgang Krauser, the final boss of fatal Fury 2 is Geese Howards half brother on their father's side
