Am I the only one that liked both Man of Steel AND Superman 2025? I don't get the people that keep saying "Man of Steel ISNT the comic accurate Superman!" because Superman has been portrayed in a more flawed/dark light in various adaptations for decades. Plus the MoS Superman isn't even a bad guy or edgy or something, he saves a lot of people. Like I said, both movies are actually pretty great, so stop this forced rivalry.

I liked them both, I'd say. In fact, my theater rereleased Man of Steel a week before this one so it was still fresh in my mind when I watched the new one last month. My biggest gripe is that Gunn, either not knowing how else to make Superman relevant again or thinking it's better this way, turned him into Invincible. Clark Kent would never listen to pop rock, he'd be a country boy. Pa and Ma Kent actors should be from Kansas, not fucking Alabama. Jor-El is a disgrace but they're going to walk back on it, for sure. Supergirl will retcon it.

They're both good. Anyone who says otherwise is an autistic fag.

I liked Henry as Superman but if Bond can't be played by an American, why should American superheroes be played by British actors? Ben Affleck was the best Batman because he was a real tough and gruff American, not a posh Brit.

I like both too. The Snyder ones gives a deeper, more somber look at Christian American themes which I loved. The Gunn one is less dark, more comics, upbeat. Both are good.

People gave Affleck so much trouble yet he did an amazing job.

Oh, too true. He got a lot of crap when he was announced but man, he was fucking beautiful. His Bruce Wayne, especially, was great. I loved his lake house, I loved his graying temples, I loved him being in an illegal underground fighting tournament, I loved everything about Batfleck. He had the Nolan aeshtetic but with comic book flavour. It was so fucking good. The only thing he was missing was the white eyes. But even then, he was so good otherwise, I let it slide. He would've made the best Batman movie ever. I rate Jay Oliva highly and take him at his word when he said that.

I liked Gunn's more, but I enjoyed MoS outside of the really forced Zod murder.

MOS tried to make Superman like Batman. When that didn’t work they just brought in Batman. BvS is a Batman movie and so is JL considering Superman was dead most the movie. I don’t get how anyone who supposedly likes Cavill as Superman can defend Snyder’s treatment of the character. I think Cavill could’ve done well as Superman under a director that actually liked the character

I am eternally bitterthat WB said no to both a Matthew Vaughn and McQ MoS 2 with Cavill. Apparently, it would be a soft reboot that would ignore everything after MoS and also recast some characters like Lois and introduce The Elite/Brainiac as the villains of each version and to rewrite Cavill's Superman after the Snyder movies defecated all over his character post-MoS. I'm so fucking bitter.

It was wild that for a while there, Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man were all brits.
Superman is the quintessential American hero. He should be prime US beef

if they are really going for having an older gruff tank batman in the dcu i'm kind of sad it won't be Afleck, i hate BVS and MOS but i was all for his performance.

but i guess then Batman would've have much of a reason to fight this Superman

They are both bad. Singer/Ruth Superman was better and we owe them an apology. Also, Man of Steel is Earth 1 if it was bad while Gunn´s version is just bad bad.

I'm guessing shills are changing tactics since this movie wasn't as big of a box office hit as they wanted it to be. Bad news: I'm still not seeing it.
