i've worked literally over 100 jobs in my life. i wish my dad wasn't such a "follower". he's afraid of NOT having someone to tell him what to do at work. i wish i would have started my small business in my early 20s. my dad was always in my ear talking about how i need to FOLLOW and work for SOMEONE else, because that's all he ever knew. i love him, but he's a FOOL. it's not too late anon. spend 400 bucks on zenbusiness and start a little S-corp LLC. do sprinklers, landscaping, welding, etc. you can make good money. that's my good work. i'm doing the best i've ever done.

I quit my job back in November. I've been NEETing since then and, other than the bullshit stress that this world typically tries to put onto me, I'm healthier physically and mentally than I have ever been when grinding for dollars for the past 30+ years.
I'm fucking done. Forever. If I do something again in the near future, it's going to be what I want to do, not what someone else thinks I need or have to do.

in my 30s, i was legitimately in the process of doing that this month. last monday i called off and told work i was going to go on family medical leave due to mental health problems for the month of august (which is true, im a miserable loser and had a mental breakdown to family about how much i want to kill myself, and this pathetic job where ive wasted a decade of my life is part of the problem) and i was going to just not return. i proceeded to see what two weeks would be like if i didnt have work, and i have done literally nothing. literally nothing. didnt make a resume, didnt look for jobs, literally have just done nothing all day. didt even spend the time watching television or anything. just pissing around in a room doing nothing. the most i did on weekdays was riding a bike around downtown and thinking how weird it is to see people out and businesses open in the middle of weekday mornings/afternoons
im probably going to go back in on monday and be back to the suicidal misery. im so fucking mentally ill, im literally afraid to look for jobs or make a resume. even though i hate this, im LITERALLY afraid. i read online like reddit or wherever about peoples job hunt process and i start hyperventilating thinking about it. thinking about what jobs i could even do. how to apply. likely will get rejected becuase im useless anyway. but if i did manage to get interviews, i would surely fail them. and even if it all works out, and i get a job and all that, i still have the rest of my dumpster fire of a life i would have to fix.

Trust fund baby; my mom never wanted me to work. It wasn’t until I was 45 that I went to school to be a high school math teacher. It’s a pretty good job. Eerily easy to get….like you just go to school for 5 years and WHAMO! Job offers left and right. I got tenured last year so I don’t even have to worry about layoffs. There’s stupid shit like having to go to football games and of course, the damned kids, but it’s rewarding and very VERY easy. I’m not even that good at math.

Dude I actually did my student-teacher internship at THAT high school. In East LA. Some of the greatest kids ever. I work at a rich white kid school now and they’re damn fucking evil. I substituted for a while and noticed that black kids are very good at math, for some reason, Asians aren’t the little geniuses everyone thinks they are, and white kids are generally smart. But black kids pick up math really really fast. Latino kids just downright don’t care about school….until they do and then they’re really smart too. White kids that don’t even try get straight Bs and Cs.

i work at a small international airport handling luggage. i like the work itself, its very physical and people for the most part leave you alone. im a team leader so i have to use a radio and sort out problems but its not hard. some people get nervous being in a critical role that if you fuck up can lose literal millions of dollars but idgaf just dont be a retard and itll be fine.
the shit part is the company i work for. theyre money grubbing cunts, just like everywhere these days rally. 2/3 of your shifts you walk in and are dangerously understaffed but still expected to get everything done on schedule. like talking about 50% under airline allocation (ie you should have 4 people for a flight and you have 1 or 2).
also a majority of the people i have to work with are extremely lazy or extremely incompetent. usually both.
but the pays good for completely unskilled work, the shifts go fast and it keeps me fitter than if i sat around all day.
only wish i started doing it right out of school and id be a lot better off financially than i am now.

Because it's a retirement chart, not a salary chart.
The numbers to the right are the net worth, which is about $2M for the upper middle class one. They're withdrawing 75k/year from investment accounts.
The number on the left is what they're able to withdraw steadily without working. The number on the right is what they have in savings.
To save up $2M, a person has to make more than $75k and/or be a very good investor.

I finally got an office job again that I like.
I get to work 3 days from home, 2 days in the office.
I have affordable health insurance ($85 a month, including dental and eyes).
But what the FUCK happened to the OFFICE. I worked in an office from 2011-2013, and again during 2018.
I finally got back into the office in 2023 (current job).
WHEN DID THE OFFICE BECOME AUTISTIC, GAY FREAK DAYCARE?!
All my office hires is non-whites 90%, 95% women, and 70% Gay, 100% autistic LOSERS.
And they allow it. All fucking day its nothing but "as a gay man, as a bisexual woman, as a transman, as a transwoman", "yeah, I did like that show for children, bur then I found out the creator is a racist, a xenophobe, a homophobe". LET ME TALK REAL LOUD, ACROSS THE ENTIRE ROOM SO THAT HOPEFULLY OTHER PEOPLE IN THE ROOM WILL JOIN INTO THIS RETARDED CONVERSATION AND BE HAPPY I'M VIRTUE SIGNALING AND AGREE WITH MY PERCEIVED VICTIMHOOD!
I like this anime! Let me decorate my desk with a full desk mouse pad! Let me put pokemon all over my desk.
Let me call off work all the time, then complain about the company, my lack of vacation days.
Let me complain about health insurance even the the Gold policy is only $120.
"It makes no sense that we aren't fully remote, despite us only having to come in 2 days a week!".
"There are nazis im charge of the country".
I went on a gay camp retreat with my partner.
My mom wasn't happy when I came out as bi.
Let me constantly say stuff like "I wanna die", "why would anything ever work", "let me be joyfully sarcastically negative and pessimistic all the fucking time!"
Jesus tap dancing Christ.
What happened? I had to accept the "open floor, no more cubicles, no privacy" shit, but why and when did the office hire and tolerate exclusively homosexual, always offended, constant whiner, never happy, child hobby, no powerlevel hiding, FREAKS?
