It's entertaining, but it feels so juvenile compared to the movies. It's like watching an Alien anime. The gimmick of the kids in android bodies could be interesting. It can still be interesting. But the execution so far feels like the typical anime convention of having a convoluted reason to explain why the super powered characters are actually children just like the audience. The worrisome part about it is that I don't think this show is aimed at children. It's just that modern audiences are made of manchildren, so a concept like this will inevitably be executed as if it were a cartoon.

I must've watched a different show called Android: Earth. Episode One was boring. When I saw the young girl with no hair and walking with an IV, I jokingly said to my wife, "They can send people 800 million miles from Earth, but still can't cure cancer?" The problem is that Hollywood writers are obsessed with keeping the information obscured, because "exposition" is seen as bad writing. This show is in desperate need of some exposition dumps, because I have no idea what is happening. Was it too hard to explicitly tell the audience that Wendy and Joe are siblings before they met? Maybe I missed it, but if it was said it was a blink and you miss it moment. So when they finally met there was no payoff for me, because I didn't know why Wendy wanted to find him so badly. Oh, okay. They are siblings. That explains it. But there was no anticipation for it because they kept the audience in the dark. It's a pity the show took this route overall, because the first scene in the ship made a great job explaining the world building with the old guy teaching the younger guy about the 5 big corporations.

The only order that makes sense here is Romulus occurring after Alien 3, Alien Earth after that, then Alien Resurrection.

Prometheus and Alien Covenant clear and obvious prequels. Alien, Aliens, and Alien 3 it was clear Weyland knew of the xenomorphs, but was still trying to successfully get their hands on one.
The entire end of Alien 3 makes no sense unless Weyland desperately wanted to get their hands on a xenomorph.

This chart implies they had multiple labs full of xenomorphs and black goo specimens well before that. The colony on LV 426 in Aliens also makes no sense if they were studying the xenomorphs already and knew their deal. The whole plot of Aliens was they dismissed the reports of some creature from on the Nostromo in Alien and went ahead and built a terraforming colony there. It was also a side plot that the company man wanted to get one of them impregnated to get a xenomorph back to Weyland which makes no sense if they already had labs and were studying it.

I've got mixed feelings. Been huge into alien since I was young and some stuff clicks while other stuff verges too close to the ridley Scott insanity era stuff that makes my eye twitch. Not sure how I like the aesthetics of certain parts of the show, I think it goes a little too prometheus for me, but the parts that look closer to the original two films are good.
The new weird creatures make me nervous. I really don't want yet another piece of alien media where I have to be exposed to this stupid fucking black goo that's ruining the franchise. If I have to deal with any bullshit from prometheus onwards im just gonna file it away with the other bs. The only other Alien media I consider canon are just the first two films and isolation.
