I saw it thanks to an anon's stream during the cinema run, I miss those times
1) 4chan had more streams going on before they were banned and had to go dark 2) I don't know how but people could stream the movies airing in the cinema and they weren't cam recording, I also saw guardians of the galaxy that way, but I wish I had seen it in the cinema in retrospective

It was JJ trying to do a big mistery, oooh what's the alien thing, and the kids having filmed it in Super8.
The most memorable thing I remember is the kids Super8 movie with zombies being shown at the end.

I have to give Abrams & Spielberg credit, tucked underneath this by the numbers sci-fi monster flick was a touching story about two motherless adolescents who desperately needed their fathers, who were both too busy licking their own wounds, but came around in the end. You don’t see that very much in Hollywood
