It seems to be a big thing nowadays, especially with all this web-based horror.
No one has made any good films with the idea, and it's going to become overdone pretty soon.
Stuff like Sinister, 8mm, and Hardcore did the idea well.

Videodrome did it best, but I don't think it is going to become a big thing. Sinister did it very well too. I think found footage sort of fulfills the snuff film niche with you as the viewer being a participant in the transaction.

Snuff films aren't as scary anymore because everyone who grew up with internet has seen all kinds of fucked up gore. Not to mention it's on the news constantly
