I actually like Alien Resurrection. People hate on it for its humor. I like it a lot. the underwater scene and the Ellen Ripley deformed clone scene concerning clone 7 was dramatic and emotional. People hate on it because of main stream critical reviews.

It's one of my favorites. Fuck the haters.

Resurrection is better than any cut of Alien 3

It would have been a decent movie if it wasn't an Alien movie.

When I watched it I was tonally reminded of The 5th Element. Then I found out it was made in the same year by a french director. It really has this French movie humor and comic style in it.
People probably just hated it because they wanted more Aliens. They already disliked Fincher's take.

Yeah, Alien doesn't have an in-built sequel generator like the Terminator franchise, where they can just keep using time travel to send yet more future assassins and bodyguards back to the Connors. The T-800 can respawn endlessly, but there's only one Ripley and if you kill her off, that's it. They should should have thought more carefully about the finality of her death before they rubberstamped Alien 3.

Right there with you, the reason I love it is that it brings something new to the alien franchise.
Alien was a thriller/horror.
Aliens was a action/thriller.
Alien Resurrection was a comedy/thriller.

Joss brought what he does best to the franchise, quips and characters.

Every one of them was interesting even the base military head. Saluting as he blew up the drop pod being firmly aware of the xenomorph behind him.

3 was the odd one out of the 4, trying to return to it's roots, bad cgi kinda ruined it. It still holds up against the new stuff, but it's the weakest of the 4 in my opinion.
