As a movie, Alien is better.
Aliens is more influential because it’s not a horror but action/thriller with James Cameron’s sentimentality to make it a popcorn flick.
You see a lot of Aliens in things like StarCraft, Starship Troopers etc. Bigger impact on pop culture.
