It was a product of it's generation, no pun intended. I was 12 when TNG came out, in my late teens when DS9 hit, around 21 when voyager hit UPN. So it's still top tier television I love to this day.

Wife was born in 1996, so she's right on that line between Millineals and zoomers. She loves voyager, kinda hit and miss with DS9,doesn't care like TNG much but tolerates watching it with me cause I like it. She hates nu-trek and the JJ / Justin Lin reboot movies like most of us, tho.

Guess it more depends on what you grew up watching.

People always bitch about the first 2 seasons but I watched the series for the first time last year and they were ok. Obviously you had better episodes later on, but they were ok, you can't expect perfection from a show with 170 episodes.

And who can forget the Dr Crusher "ghost lover" dreck episode? Even during the later peak seasons, TNG was all over the place with some great classics and then some instant skip episodes.
Very inconsistent compared to DS9.
