>gooning has overstimulated a certain part of the brain while technology has left you devoid of any irl connections or romantic sensibilities
Gooning is a symptom, not the root of the problem. My generation descended into porn because there aren't any ways to make connections or have genuine romance, so we jerk off to (or produce in the case of Zoomettes) porn as an opioid for that existential pain.
>sex scenes in a serious dramatic context does nothing but produce an uncomfortable awkward feeling
Anon it has far more to do with the fact that sex scenes in newer American movies are fucking repulsive, they're poorly shot (they often focus on the mans ass and leave the girl with her clothes on) and often feature ugly bitches like Zendaya. We watch plenty of edgy 70s and European/Japanese movies with tons of sex scenes in them that are far raunchier than anything made today and we have no issue with that.
