It's still one of the most watched shows on HBO, the fact that it launched two spin off shows says the interest is still very much there.
>>213739927 >It's still one of the most watched shows on HBO
I'd be interested to see the watch numbers by season. I'd bet dollars to donuts that most of that is just people rewatching the comfy seasons.
>>213739927
If anything the spin offs are a testament to just how popular the first 5ish seasons were. I don't think people remember how wildly popular peak GoT was. I don't think there will be anything like that ever again
>>213739809 (OP) >memory-holed
literally daily threads on here, and on reddit, where you obviously came from. 2 spin offs which also have daily threads, as well as the the never ending seethe as. retards slowly compute that gurm is a hack. Plus most watched show HBO, this coping faggot aside:>>213739975
But sure, memory holed, yeah.

First four seasons are certified comfy. 5-6 are decent, considering the books they were based off of were dogshit. >>213740013 >I don't think people remember how wildly popular peak GoT was.
Exactly, it was extremely popular and everywhere. It was all hype until season 8.

the ending wasn't bad
it only upset ugly shallow dipshit reddditor because it made their favorite literally me characters decisive an villianous
which they always very clearly were
dont @ me either faggots

Season one was already only mediocre in terms of writing and was held up by absolutely kino performances. Almost every episode had a pants-on-head retarded moment.
>>213740790
Mad Dany wasn't setup well in the show. It made no sense why she would suddenly snap like that. It could have been a cool twist if they didn't cram everything into a couple episodes.
>>213740962
bookfag cope. It was set up in s1, it wasn't received well because the show had/has a large contingent of insane tumblr feminists who genuinely thought she was meant to be role model

Explain to me then why you think it wasn’t bad mr original opinion havers. How does Bran, a crippled teenager, getting to be king because he “has the best story” ,despite being gone for a whole season and doing almost fuckall in the last two, make sense?
>>213741653 >has the best story
That wasn't meant to be truthful, it was Tyrion's bullshit that none of the other characters, even Bran, believed but they needed a king and he was the least worst choice.
>>213741653
Bran is evil. He knew Dany would burn down the city. He could have warned everyone, but he chose to do nothing because he knew it would result in him being king in the end. The throne was made intentionally uncomfortable so kings could never sit easy and become complacent. Bran can sit on it al day without feeling anything.
At one point newspapers were unironically calling it the best show since The Wire.
It rode the post 9/11 War on Terror zeitgeist for about a season and a half before degenerating into serialised dreck and killing its own reputation with an incredibly boring episodic third season, and an abortion of a fourth season split in half by the writers strike.
The embarrassing final episode with it's montage of dancing Sony Aibos was beyond shit and beyond parody.
>>213741947 >bran was the least worse choice
NTA but shut the fuck up. Anyone who’s not a faggot knows that Edmure was the best choice. Has an heir and can make more, has lordship experience and is a veteran of two wars. Bran has none of these things.
