Quentin Tarantino is unironically a better director than Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve

Nolan has mich better range than Tarantino.
Dunkirk, Inception and Oppenheimer are far diffefent from each ogher than Basterds, Django and Pulp Fiction.
Tarantino wants to quit at film ten, so everyone doesn't realize he's a one trick pony.

Fincher and Tarantino at their peaks are both better than Nolan and Villeneuve at their peaks, but the only consistently good directors now are the ones that avoid genreslop like Alexander Payne. Fincher should stick now to TV/streaming.

Why is Fincher doing such trash lately?
Neither Nolan nor Villeneuve has ever made a convincing woman. The closest either came was that Cuban hologram from Blade Runner 2049. You can't be a good filmmaker and scant 50% of the population. Nolan's best movie, Dunkirk, avoids his twin kryptonites: Dialogue and Women, and their inevitable corollary Romantic Tension. His last movie featured all three and made me wanna puke.

Fincher has a very uneven career, and his directing may be too tight, which somewhat limits him, but the guy is undoubtedly a master of the craft. The only time I have had issue with his choices was The Killer. Too much The Smith. Too much narration. The action wasn't as tense as it should have been. But otherwise he's a great director. Not sure if I would even out him in the top 5 of active Hollywood directors though. But probably top 10. And the nigga made Fight Club and The Social Network. It's hard to think those scripts could have been executed any better.

I'm surprised he doesn't have some black director as his number two. I can see him being egotistical enough to think he is the best, but he also is huge dick sucker for blacks and doesn't seem the type to be into Fincher's darker, psychological style.

Yeah no shit. Tarantino is a meme but I don't think anyone would ever suggest Nolan and Villineu are on the same level as Footfag as an actual director, regardless of whose films you actually prefer or even ultimately think are better in totality.

In terms of the number of films he's done that I enjoyed, he might be right. Nolan, for example, I liked Memento, The Dark Knight and Inception. Batman Begins, Insomnia, and the Prestige were okay. I thought Interstellar, Dunkirk, Oppenheimer were all overrated.
So, assigning two points for each that I liked, and one point for each that was okay, he's got a score of 9.
Tarantino I liked Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Four Rooms. Kill Bill was okay. Death Proof, Inglorious Basterds, Django and Hateful 8 were all pretty terrible.
But that's still an overall score of 13.
Even my favorite director, Paul Verhoeven doesn't beat that score. Flesh and Blood, RoboCop, Total Recall, Starship Troopers are all excellent. Hollow Man, Basic Instinct and Showgirls are all okay.
That ends up at 11.

Hot take: Quentin Tarantino films generally suck because it is sooo lazy to just have a bunch of people point guns at each other and call it dramatic.
Itβs like the eponymous high-stakes card game in movies β lazy lazy lazy writing.
Quentin Tarantino films are just pretty people solving every conceivable problem with psychotic levels of ultraviolence.
No family, no marriage, no kids, no grandparents - nothing human at all.
Just licking feet, shooting heads and breaking teeth.
