I have no problem with the fight scenes or even the cinematography. My problem is with the jarring CGI, the obnoxious jokes, the retarded plot, and the dogshit acting.

Man this looks so cheap. Looks like a scene from a British TV series or something.

I liked the film but it was definitely too busy and too "new school" in the way it was shot. I tried to watch it on cineby originally and the server I selected started playing the 1978 Superman instead and I ended up just watching the entirety of that first and it's really, really good. A lot of the shots in it are beautiful. Especially on the farm. And of course, the music is perfect and Reeve is perfect as both Clark and Superman.


I quite liked the new guy as Superman too though, but felt like he didn't get to be Clark very much. I suppose just due to him and Lois already being a couple. A lot of the scenes seemed to shot with weird focal lengths, which I wasn't a huge fan of. I didn't mind it to begin with, but it just seemed to keep going and going and going with those. Especially when he was flying or fighting.

All in all, it was a nice 6/10 that made me feel things when it leaned into the humanity of Superman. The 1978 one is a 9/10. Thank you for reading my blog.
