Because IRL wisdom holds greater value and attractive than knowledge.
Wisdom is gained through life experience, challenges other people cause and engaging with society. These experiences are what make you emotionally grow and more mature.
No matter how high IQ you think you are or how much obscure history/videogames/manga data you’ve memorized, if you've lived as a shut in with limited real interaction, you have a teen tier understanding of life.
And no, wisdom cannot be acquired by reading books or wikipedia. It comes through knowing oneself, trial and error, and dealing with a variety of IRL situations.
The fact is a low IQ chav with life experience is more mature and adult (and therefore more attractive) than an introverted always online nerd who spends his days detached from the world.

Being 'le always nice guy' is also a sign you are desperate to please others and have low self-esteen. Like an insecure 15 years old that constantly needs others' approval, making you weak.

Yep.
When I was 15-22 years old I was a social outcast lonely nerd obsessed with videogames and manga that struggled to talk.
Then one day I simply decided to play the game.
Now I have a job, a stable relationship, good friends and can go anywhere alone and talk with anyone.
>inb4 why are you here then
Because I joined this place when I was a depressed shut in. And you know, there're things you never get rid of.
