Wanting to live in another time is just an expression of romanticising that time period. Realisticly there is nothing romantic about any time period. You'd have to deal with similar shit and hate it eventually if you had to live there.

The sanitized way time periods are portrayed in movies and books can give people a major dose of anemoia. In reality if we were actually in those times we'd find them as boring and annoying as our own but in different ways.
