Back then Man of Steel was considered a disappointment : it was the most famous superhero of all, but Nolan with Bane and Marvel with Iron Man 3 were over 1 billion.

By comparison that makes Superman (2025) an unquestionable flop.

Or maybe the market itself has evolved and we shouldn't expect such numbers anymore.

The market is simply fed up with capeshit. Both DC and Marvel are failing spectacularly.
Back then, when normies were obsessed with super heroes, MoS was considered a flop because capeslop was easily grossing over 1 billy left and right.

Superhero movies aren't guaranteed Billion dollar hits anymore. In this new era of Super hero fatigue, people waiting for streaming and the fact this people still have a bad taste in their mouths from the last DC Universe they should absolutely take $600m as a win especially since it shat on the Marvel movies this year.

However all it takes is some WB executive to look at a graph for them to start making stupid decisions again. And we all know how stupid WB can be

Just wait until the next Avengers doesn't make a billion, then it'll finally stop.

Superman actually beat Marvel though.

Man of Steel was only a disappointment because it was a bad movie. People were not box office obsessed like you are know. You don't even watch movies, you just talk about money, kike.

everyone I know lost interest in superhero movies for the most part after Avengers: Endgame

Spider-Man is the exception for the most part and Marvel made a few other ones that I know some people watched (Deadpool & Wolverine, Guardians of the Galaxy 3). I literally don't even hear jack shit about almost all the new Marvel movies or shows coming out these days from anyone.

A superhero movie can still do well but it has to be REALLY good. Before Endgame you could skirt by with a decent movie. Now if it's not really good, it'll flounder.

I heard Thunderbolts was actually quite good but it only made 382 million off a 180 million budget, which is not really that much going off a movie needing to make back twice it's budget just to break even

>one of the most well known capeshit characters in existence did better than a bunch of marvel d-listers
That's not exactly an accomplishment

We shouldn't, covid pretty much changed people's opinions of going to the movies. Now everyone just waits for it to hit streaming a month or two later, if they even watch it at all.

Sneeders since Superman released: "Noooo!! This HAS to flop! It HAS to flop!!! It's a flop!!! it did, it flopped! Because it HAS to flop!!! it HAS TO FLOP! Don't you understand??? IT HAS TO FLOP, IT JUST HAS TO" but it didn't. "BUT IT HAS TOOO AHHHHHHH, IT HASSSSSS TOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

I guarantee you at least 3 autistic losers have killed themselves over this film's success.

Why not make a Superman Box Office General instead of making millions of threads?

It is an Avengers movie and it has RDJ in it too so it will inevitably get to the billion dollar mark. But considering how expensive the movie is going to be, even raking in a billy might not be enough to break even.

The next Avengers might very well be the first billion dollar flop.

>Paying RDJ $100m apparently
>Build up has been atrocious
>Can already see the poster having Florence Pugh, Pedro Pascal and Anthony Mackie front and centre

Really wouldn't surprise me at all if it doesn't hit the billy

Superman movies are always underperforming. He’s supposed to be the numbero uno superhero, yet not a single one of his movies has earned a billion dollars. Even Fast & Furious and Jurassic World movies earn more. Same with Batman. While one Batman movies has earned over a billion, Fast & Furious, Jurassic World, and even a few Disney live-action remakes like The Lion Kang have earned more than most Batman movies.

MOS is the movie equivalent of a nepobaby
>produced by Nolan, with his name all over the ads
>right after The Dark Knight trilogy finished
>right after The Avengers became the then third biggest film ever
Still underperformed because it was too divisive for it’s own good.
