Why does it cost $200m to make a b-movie?

Directors salary was 15 million. 2 million for villain. lets round that both leads got million each, then maybe 5 million to other side characters.

I dunno where money went, the CGI doesn't look that good. I think the movie cost 100 million, the rest are probably tax hiding and money loundering stuff

It costs that much because a b-movie has to be a logical fractional of a billion, cause you want it to make a billion that's why it's B-movie like B for billion

Damn, didn't know the directors get paid so much, i always thought the lead actor gets the lion share and everyone else maybe some decent money but not multiple millions.

This is an exception. That having said, DCU is a mess. WB should just hire some team of smartest people from HBO

The real question is why do movies today look like shit compared to T2 with similar budgets? Why does the CGI in T2 still hold up 30+ years later and movies today look like shit right out the gate?

It doesnt. For the past few years Studios get funding beyond what it costs so they can get their profits before the inevitable flop. This ensures they make a profit before audiences tell everyone the movie was shit.

The technical term for this is money laundering.

$323M+ budget once you factor in reshoots, licensing, 50% theater cut, and marketing. It needed at least double that amount to fully break even. The fact it's going to VOD sooner than expected proves how hard it underperformed according to WB's internalized metrics. Capeshit is dying.
