yes, it just makes it ever more obvious that Ridley wanted to make a reboot and do the concept differently but since they needed to pretend it's a prequel, it all has to end up towards the start of Alien even if it makes zero sense and is retarded since everything was way more advanced and better. He didn't want to keep using chestbursters. He was really bored of the alien lifecycle and wanted to fast forwards it. He had one guy get facehugged, never go unconscious, get the hugger off in seconds, but still somehow have an alien inside him that pops out a few minutes later when no one's watching of course. There's no point in trying to take the movies seriously.

Not only do I not ever see people hating on the Neomorph
I personally find it very creepy and suited for daylight horror - where the traditional xeno has to be in shadow for it to really be scary.

I just think they're a lame way to try to reinvent the Xenomorph, in a movie with the Xenomorph barely in it. I don't think they're a terrible design, personally, but they are inferior to ye olde XX121.

It could have turned into a queen, and in the decade between movies made a fleet of xenomorph ships carrying a horde of xenos ready to land on a human colony and wreck them. They could have gone in many different directions aside from just the obvious one monster attacks people in a haunted house

The whole movie they were in was terrible? Shame, great actors for most part, ruined by complete stupidity and lack of logic. Somehow made Prometheus seem intelligent

there needed to be a movie between it and Prometheus to explain davids reasoning more because wanting to experiment with the goo effect on species and using it to basically eradicate all other life on a planet in a single instance doesn't seem like it would yield any info other than planets are fucked if you dump an ungodly amount of the black goo on them. why not just drop a few of the canisters deep in the forest instead to see how the aliens actually evolve and change when they have to actively fight for control of a planet?

He explained his entire reasoning in Covenant. There was no more to say. He is a malfunctioning android with a daddy complex. He hated his father and viewed him as unworthy. He wanted to kill his creator, and their creator, then show that he's the bestest creator ever by creating the perfect lifeform. Which it's not perfect in any way but that won't stop them from continuing to repeat that forever. David literally has gone insane and can't see when he's making errors, which Walter pointed out. David's creation needs other life to build upon, so he was going to use the next human colony to create his xenomorph colony.

The one thing the Alien series has always fumbled the ball on is: what happens after the aliens win? what do they want long term? where do they go from there? I love Aliens, but it really just had them fall into hibernation after they won over the colonists. Prometheus would just have them turn into structures and the landscape. Alien was going to have it either die off with a short life cycle or also go to sleep and pretend to be human to trick another ship into picking it up. I think it'd be neat if they took over a real inhabited planet, they'd turn it into a giger-esque hellscape. And be intent on continuing to spread so they'd create their own interstellar semi-organic ships to launch into space
