The problem with cursed mines is bugs, bugs destroy the ways to entry and make the whole endeavor a death trap, of course you can clean the mine yadayada, but the first guy to enter dies, like a pharaons curse, the bugs come back ruin your infraestructure again why simple shallow boulders are better the issue is dynamite

Not likely. The Earth only has so much shit on it. We've already experienced one material mined into total depletion (Germanium). The growing human population accelerates resource usage, so the only way to have sustainable resources for the future is for the planet to lose around 3 billion people to put us back in balance with nature.

Here in America people can buy mineral rights without buying the land itself so only they can mine minerals on your property, and you can't even though you own the fucking land.

I remember approximately 20 years ago before all the fracking took place in Texas, pricks in helicopters were flying over everyone's property in the Texas countryside (without property owner permission of course) looking for oil, and once it was found they bought the rights to it before the property owners even knew it was there. From there they "legally" forced owners off of their land so frackers could come in, and "compensated them" with rent on the land. When they were done, they left behind toxic wastelands that won't be good for jack shit anything for probably 1,000 years.

In places where there's gold, fat old lazy people hoard up all the rights at annual lot auctions, then rent them out to other people to do all the hard work (while taking the gold of course).

It's a shit system.

Most of our systems are pretty shit, unfortunately. The only reason China currently holds a current monopoly on rare earths is that it’s even worse there, they don’t give two shits about the environment and there’s no mechanism for people to do anything about it that won’t land them in a reeducation camp

Pick ones that have specimen photos from nearby locales, you might even find some that have instructions to the tailings. Just explore the shit, you'll figure it out, Make sure you take plenty of water, pack some protection, don't cross any fences if they're not meant to be crossed etc - take a rock hammer and maybe a sledge. Tons of malachite and chrysocolla still all over the place in the desert outside where every copper mine once was, sometimes bright blue azurite and if you're lucky gem silica or turquoise.

>>213767471
There's absolutely no telling, the green one is even a hard guess without seeing more, seeing it in person, cutting it or otherwise doing some sort of test on it. I dont fucks with too many of those rare ones because they're a hard sell and you have to send them in to some place to be certified before you can sell them. In the US that's GIA, who will preform an XRD and mass spectroscopy majigdobabber on it and give you a paper saying it's real certified brown shit

the green stuff however looks like it could be made into jewlery with the right cut and as we all know shiny colorful shit sells
