I admit to Dianeposting without having seen any of her flicks. However, I saw this Snoodish photo of her whilst looking through cute pics of her and I had to post it for the enjoyment of any potential Dianescholars. Someone posted her in a 'fu thread and I became taken with her. That girl has been on my mind, no cap...

Perhaps I will watch Terrorvizhe tonight.

>the writing and acting are terrible
The acting is mostly fine for the type of film it's trying to be. I agree that Cary Elwes doesn't do a very good job of portraying hypovolemic shock at the end but as far as Adam is concerned Leigh Whannell's amateur acting fits his character's personality to a T and helps make him seem more like a real person than if he had been portrayed by a skilled veteran. You're just plain wrong about it being badly written though.

Pretty good occult film, with a great supporting cast (Ray Milland, Hank Worden, Gloria Grahame, Henry Silva).

Reminded me that there's another made-for-TV western from the 70s that has a supernatural/horror slant to it, The Hanged Man (1974)

Also a Spanish horror/western, Hot Snake (1978). It shows a lot of real snakes being killed though, so avoid it if you don't like animal cruelty in films

It's pretty trash so far. I'm not sure what direction they're heading with it. Maybe it's too early to say. I don't even know how many episodes this is going to be or if they're even planning for it to be more than 1 season. But so far, it's only saving grace has some of the effects. And I don't even think the effects for the alien itself are very good. I'd say the alien effects in the AvP movies were probably better.

Huh interdasting. Doesn't surprise me that none of the actors, writer or director showed up to collect the award though but I do wonder if they hadn't won all those Oscars if they still would've thought it beneath them to attend the horror focused awards show? Guess we'll never know but I'm positive I read somewhere that Anthony Hopkins himself always considered it a horror film too so maybe it was the studio that barred them from attending or something

The horror genre can be about things other than monsters and masked killers you know:
>Psychological horror is a subgenre of horror and psychological fiction with a particular focus on mental, emotional, and psychological states to frighten, disturb, or unsettle its audience. The subgenre frequently overlaps with the related subgenre of psychological thriller, and often uses mystery elements and characters with unstable, unreliable, or disturbed psychological states to enhance the suspense, horror, drama, tension, and paranoia of the setting and plot and to provide an overall creepy, unpleasant, unsettling, or distressing atmosphere.

I just came back from Weapons, it had some good scares and creepy atmosphere but it had some unnecessary comedic elements, same with Barbarian or Longlegs, I guess its a trend.
I didnt laugh out of respect for the audience but 4 or 5 dudes did, reminded me why horror should be watched alone.
Those type of people ruin the mood, and they werent zoomers but 40, 50 year old dudes with unkept beard and black tshirts, you know the type.
Also the narration wasnt needed, hell, its not needed in any movie.
6/10 cause you never see the villain's motive and the resolution happens offscreen.

From Hell for more old-school 1800s conspiracies. Don't know if you'd consider that "less known" though.
The Zodiac crimes are also possibly tangentially related to cults that were active in the 60s and 70s, but the movie doesn't go for that angle.
