It wasn’t that good
It was just medium. Worth a visit to the theater compared to the mindless slop “Together” but that’s about it.

The best I can say is that it’s better than “Sinners” but it even gets BTFO by “Bring Her Back” which gave us kino performances from all three leads.

That may be my personal taste but we can all agree that “Eddington” and “Companion” both objectively BTFO it in terms of originality and quality and there isn’t any disputing that much. “Eddington” is just brilliant and “Companion” combined a cabin in the woods isolation story with AI and overall social commentary.

tl; dr “Weapons” is overhyped and Julia Garner is wasted in it. Really only the ending is legitimately amazing and laugh out loud funny. Rest is just slightly above average. Julia Garner and Brolin’s dreams/premonitions make no sense and are stupid even if satirical

Together looks bad

The only remarkable thing about it was the advertising campaign. Movies feel so hollow now. The appearance is subsuming the substance. Meanwhile Eddington apparently bombed and I thought that was the best movie I've seen this year. Weapons feels like a deceptive puddle in comparison.

I liked it personally but I did feel a little let down at the witch reveal. I haven't seen Eddington but I thought this move was more original then Companion (which I also liked). 28 Years later is horror of the year for me.

Good premise, bad execution.
