Yes they are, nigger. I rewatched the trilogy earlier this year and only the third one doesn't hold up that good, but the memes save it. BB and TDK are still the best cinematic incarnation of Batman, and will probably never be topped. Cope and dilate.

The Dark Knight is a bad movie with about 10 amazing scenes of dialogue and a great final scene. It's literally the joker movie and seeing his worldview that he sells so well the entire movie fail in the climax is great. Other than that the movie is boring as hell.

They came out in a more innocent time. They paled in comparison to the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy and the Xmen trilogy but they stood on their own as serious and good Batman movies. You could at least tell what the story was, what the heroes and villains motivations were, unlike man of steel and BvS

That wasn't Welling's choice. It was the showrunners and writers, and it was to keep the plots and effects more in-line with the budget. The melodrama worked because the show got like 10 seasons, a comic book, and spawned an entire reboot franchise which lasted just as long.

Begins on rewatch has some really dumb dialogue. Gunn-tier stuff. But everything else is still great, and is still the best superhero origin movie ever.
Knight's script is much stronger but it loses all of the sauce. Nolan can't shoot for shit so the giant empty city streets looked just like that. The Begins set design was on point.
People who prefer Begins are spiritual Snyderfags, they appreciate aesthetics over good writing. But its capeshit maybe they're right.
I haven't been able to bring myself to rewatch Rises aside from Bane clips on youtube. 12 year old me played the shit out of that mobile game though.

I hate how they put so much effort into giving Gotham a unique run down vibe in Begins only to completely give up later and make it a run of the mill NYC/Chicago hybrid in TDK.

And Rises is just egregious with shots of Manhattan skyline every 15 minutes

TDK is a better movie, but Begins aesthetic is unmatched

I actually really liked the chase scene in The Dark Knight and come back to watch it again frequently; I like the action, the guns, the explosions. It has really good pacing and tension building. The music does a lot for it as well and I feel that's something that's over looked in these films; the theme song is present throughout but its not something quite memorable like the "march" that the Burton films theme was.
I do and I don't like the depiction of Gotham in these movies. I understand that the films are a lot more grounded in realism, but Gotham is meant to be a character unto itself. These movies made Chicago look grey and drab, despite it being an improvement over the sound stages that the sets of Gotham were built on and outside Pinewood.
There's a good grittiness and edge that Batman needed to kickstart a reboot of a franchise in the publics collective consciousness that was so far removed and divorced from the previous takes that these movies do well.

Roger Ebert on Burton slop. 2/4 stars.
>The Gotham City created in “Batman” is one of the most distinctive and atmospheric places I’ve seen in the movies. It’s a shame something more memorable doesn’t happen there. “Batman” is a triumph of design over story, style over substance – a great-looking movie with a plot you can’t care much about. All of the big moments in the movie are pounded home with ear-shattering sound effects and a jackhammer cutting style, but that just serves to underline the movie’s problem, which is a curious lack of suspense and intrinsic interest.
Ebert on CHADman Begins
>I said this is the Batman movie I’ve been waiting for; more correctly, this is the movie I did not realize I was waiting for, because I didn’t realize that more emphasis on story and character and less emphasis on high-tech action was just what was needed. The movie works dramatically in addition to being an entertainment. There’s something to it.

Ebert on Burton slop returns 2/4 stars.
>Perhaps I would have enjoyed Batman more if the movie had been about someone else, perhaps one of those Marvel superheroes who frankly concede their personal inadequacies. I can admire the movie on many levels, but I cannot accept it as Batman. And I was disappointed that the disjointed plot advanced so unsteadily, depriving us of the luxury of really caring about the outcome.

>It is a common theory that when you have a hero, like James Bond, Superman or Batman, in a continuing series, it’s the villain that gives each movie its flavor. “Batman” had the Joker, played by Jack Nicholson, to lend it energy, but the Penguin is a curiously meager and depressing creature; I pitied him, but did not fear him or find him funny. The genius of Danny DeVito is all but swallowed up in the paraphernalia of the role. “Batman Returns” is odd and sad, but not exhilarating.
Ebert on The CHAD Knight 4/4 stars.
>“Batman” isn’t a comic book anymore. Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” is a haunted film that leaps beyond its origins and becomes an engrossing tragedy. It creates characters we come to care about. That’s because of the performances, because of the direction, because of the writing, and because of the superlative technical quality of the entire production. This film, and to a lesser degree “Iron Man,” redefine the possibilities of the “comic-book movie

The Dark Knight is a shite movie people pretend to like because Ledger heroed. That said, his suicide is odd;Malcolm McDowell played a similar character without killing himself. The film has laughable action, boring characters, dumb dialogue, and a nonsensical idiot plot full of bored idiots. IRL mob would have just shot the joker and be done with it.

The Dark Knight Rises is even dumber movie. The intro scene is retarded, IRL CIA wouldn't just believe Marketta man, IRL entire police department wouldn't just enter the sewers etc. Action is even worse somehow.

Batman begins is also dumb. Batman just took out entire castle full of ninjas with smol explosion? LMAO

the dark knight is mk ultra levels of deception to accept Unironically, corporate power above state, surveillance and Jokers nihilism which was catastrophic for the country.

Batman Begins is the best film in the trilogy, TDKR is an embrassment, nolan should be ashamed. It is however clear intelligence agencies got more involved end of W bush and Obama
