Will there ever be a plot point where someone's smartphone was listening in to Dexter opening up to someone before he kills them or whatever? They seem to use their personal phones pretty freely everywhere. Of course even if the phones listen in to at least offer you "better ads" etc I realize it still would require someone to actually investigate and look into something. But it's been a while when someone was tapped because Dexter hardly ever speaks in code, other than maybe with Batista in the car where he nor admits or denies anything.

In S2 at least Dexter was suspecting that Doakes was wearing a wire before headbutting him iirc.

And I repeat: just because smartphones have the capacity to listen in or security cameras exists, that doesn't immediately mean Dexter should get caught in episode 1, because even so it still requires someone investigating and looking into the audio or footage. I realize every season of dexter has people praising at least the first 5 episodes and then keeping some optimistic hope for the last 5 episodes, but this time the season actually seems to be solid and they took the feedback to heart and read the forum posts and reddit and these threads etc to avoid the most obvious boring and too stupid shit.

I watched the original sin and I don't think it ever was 5/5 or even 4/5 most of the time but it was solid +3/5 entertaining show to watch for the whole run so that's something. It still had useless plot lines and useless big bad, but you learn to watch the show just to be entertained. Compared to that resurrection has been a solid 4/5 the whole way so far. The most important guarantee for dexter show success is that it doesn't take itself too seriously nowadays.
