This movie broke chuds. They still desperately come up with new copes every week and post dozens of demented cope threads each day.
You lost, chuddies. The Snyderverse is dead and buried forever. Gunn won.

12 years of inflation is a bitch. I'm curious to see how the VOD rentals stack up though. I personally thought Gunn's version was more properly a goofy capeshit outing than Snyder's, while I respect Snyder for having a vision and trying to explore deeper themes in his films. Both have merit, and both Cavill and Corenswet are perfectly suited for the respective interpretations of the character.

This movie was good and did poorly I think because A the economy is just bad and we refuse to admit that and B I think Gunn and his retard brother pissed a lot of people off implying this was a political immigration movie which it wasn't.

Corenswet is alright except for his shitty name. The fault is in gunn’s awful writing and directing. He needs to be banned from serious films.

This isn't a "serious film" though, it's capeshit. That's my point about Gunn and Snyder. Gunn did a goofy capeshit movie for goofy capeshit, Snyder was all deep and philosophical about it. I respect both, it's still capeshit at the end of the day though.8wpty

Box office means nothing when tickets get more and more expensive every year. A movie making $300,000,000 is impressive when tickets are $10.00. It’s a lot less impressive when that same ticket is now $25.00.

Man of Steel (2013)

Production Budget: $225 million
Marketing Budget: ~$160 million
Total Budget (2013): ~$385 million
Adjusted for Inflation (2025): ~$500 million
Worldwide Box Office: $670.1 million
Adjusted Box Office (2025): ~$870 million

Profitability:

Nominal Profit: $670.1M – $385M = ~$285 million
Adjusted Profit (2025): ~$870M – $500M = ~$370 million

Superman (2025)

Production Budget: $225 million
Marketing Budget: $125 million
Total Budget: $350 million
Worldwide Box Office (as of July 27, 2025): $502 million

Profitability:

Nominal Profit: $502M – $350M = $152 million
Note: The film is still in theaters and its final gross may increase.

Key Takeaways

Man of Steel was more profitable in both nominal and inflation-adjusted terms, earning about $370 million in profit when adjusted to 2025 dollars.
Superman (2025) is profitable so far, but its final profitability will depend on its total box office run and ancillary revenues (streaming, merchandise, etc.).

I guess I should have said important instead, because it was supposed to be the pillar for all the rest of the shit they were planning. Gunn just doesn’t have the ability to do anything without some sort of winking irony, even his positivity kick comes off as unauthentic.
