Superman's divinity is a often overlooked aspect of the character. I appreciate Snyder for portraying Superman as the godlike figure he is. Gunn's Superman disrespects the character by boiling him down to a mortal who saves squirrels.

I actually think it’s the opposite, Snyder’s Superman is way more human, he saves more people outside of the suit than Gunn’s ever does, Snyder’s Superman never stops being Superman or thinking about people because he understands what his responsibilities are on Earth, that’s human, playing your role to the benefit (or negligence) of society- Gunn’s Superman saving a squirrel while aesthetically charming comes off as an obnoxious display of Godlike power, I’m so fast so strong and so aware of my surroundings I can save a squirrel and give it a speech before returning back to fighting a giant monster and making sure nobody ever dies or gets hurt, that’s impossible, no human can be that emotionally physically and mentally astute or powerful.

I grew up watching Man of Steel and seeing Superman saving a squirrel is the most pathetic, useless, unnecessary scene I’ve ever seen. Superman would NEVER do such thing and he doesn’t have time for that. Such a big downgrade. Only Snyder can make Superman cool and super powerful

Like in that all-star superman thing that gets praised a whole lot. The ways he perceives and interacts with reality are so far removed from the human experience that it's ridiculous to say he's just like you or me. The factors of risk, mortality, and time central to the human experience and all our evolutionary history don't factor in to him personally at all, except to contrast against his squishy human loved ones. And pretending he respects some normal insane dude like batman is a little weird and maybe condescending when he's a god among men
