The secret is that NO ONE has figured out a model that's as lucrative as cable TV was. Streaming has to cut corners. Modern day work-flows are also about cutting corners, and as bland and static backgrounds as much as possible. I hate it.

It could be worse, but yeah. We are NEVER going to go back to the good old days. You can have some forgettable children's tv show from like 1993 have a shit ton of money poured into it for no good reason, and it looks gorgeous. Netflix shits about Flash animations. This is only a few steps above it.
