I just saw them live with Ty Segall last month. They're sounding they're best even with a new drummer. Claypool has also never given himself time to fuck around. He has so many side projects that he's been constantly recording and touring with alongside Primus since the 90s. That's the work ethic of a sober musician who takes his craft seriously

a kid at a primus concert kept running into me and trying to start a pit it was very annoying. he did it and hit me right in the hip and it hurt enough that i pushed him over. i swear les claypool spoke right to me and said "stop" during the show like he saw me do it and to this day im not sure if i was just having a little schizo episode or not. i felt bad because i pushed him to the floor hard, he was obviously high out of his mind. after that he walked right up to me and stared at me like he was going to stab me or something. was crowd surfing later on and kicking around wildly and hitting people. i hate live shows because of shit like that. the whole "play fighting" shit people do is retarded and being packed into a room with retards isnt fun. not for me at all
